Asian Gypsy Moth Advisory

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and the United States Department of Agriculture have issued an advisory stating that an unprecedented number of commercial vessels calling on the west coast ports in 2008 have arrived with live Asian Gypsy Moth egg masses. Vessels arriving from Japan, Far East Russia, China and Korea are encouraged to have their crew conduct intensive vessel inspections to remove and destroy all egg masses prior to entering US and Canadian ports.
